Future Machine Volume 2
Power of Trust
Future Machine’s second debut turned the conversation to the power of trust in communities at large.
Decommissioned nuclear tower cooling fins were recontextualized into an art installation to provoke reflection about responsible energy creation and consumption.
The chromed concave surface of the fins invited viewers to meditate on their own role as consumer, putting trust in their community.
The convex surface served as a mirror of the surrounding community, a larger examination of public trust and consequence when responsibility is left unattended.
Future Machine Volume 2 was made up of a sculpture, photography series, and VR experience. Contributors included Signal Architecture, Dovetail General Contractors, Jill Drllevich, Ross Monroe, and Ben Chaykin.
